Just been having a look at Robmk6's modified dash he has for sale:

plug: http://www.escortevolution.co.uk/forums/in...howtopic=148357 (robmk6- 10%commission for this mate) :pancake:

anyway, I am really liking the idea of relocating the stereo to where the centre vents are. I've got a mondy trip computer and a set of fold-away drinks holders from a passat to fit in, and this would provide the perfect location to put them where the stereo is as standard.

my question: would I have to remove the blower pipework to get the stereo to fit properly, wouldn't I have to blank it off or something as blowing hot air onto a unit that is trying to cool it'self could burn out the head unit.

the fibreglassin and painting, I have no probs with as I did something similar to my old fiat brava to get rid of that orrible unit that had.

just trying to get my head around 1. space and 2. not overheating the head unit.

The blanking off is pretty straight forward and the ford heater ducting is made of a very thin plastic which is easily cut with a Stanley knife if you need to trim back before blanking, you can use a piece of perspex or acrylic board to do the actually blanking, just glue it in place with some epoxy resin/fibreglass resin or tiferseal.

that's what I did on my mk5b (same ducting setup as mk6)
