Some people buy a cheap car and run it till it is no longer worth fixing or something better comes along. I don't see how this relates to his job or women, how many people are still in their first job or with their first girlfriend? Why does it show a lack of respect towards anything? it's a car after all. people who have expensive cars still swap them a lot so why is this any different? Rockerrobb, Telling him to go for a drive and crash is out of order, ( out of 55 only 3 have been in an accident). complaining that the money he spent could have been enjoyed better by his family, why bring that up. he may not have spent or lost much money when he changed. also money you have spent on parts for your car (it's a mk6 escort so not a classic could have been enjoyed better by your family could it not? I agree on the "lumps of metal that just get you around" stuff, because they are! and I also agree on looking after your car and treating it with respect. As a man, a car is his horse, just as it was before cars. You have to clean it, feed it, take it to be looked at when it's not well etc. etc. I'm very "car proud", there's no smoking in my car, there's no litter in my car (Most of the time), it gets cleaned when it's dirty. Doesn't matter if it was an old Fiat Panda or a Ferrari, I keep my car clean and respectable, maintain it when possible and keep it running well. I don't agree on the fact that if we all had money we wouldn't be driving escorts. It wouldn't be a mk6, no, but I'd still be driving an escort, probably a nice mk1 I envy people that have had the opportunity to drive many many cars. There's so many beautiful cars out there I wish I could have a go of them all, but sadly that's not really a practical idea for me. I think it's a shame if a car that's no longer in production, and is a nice car gets abused and thrashed, but that's not for me to judge. A mans car is a mans car and any proud car owner will always be defence of their car especially if they pay out to keep it clean and running well. Anybody else, well, you do what you like with your own car. If the car is destined to end with you then that's just the way of life. I think there's a very thin line between an enthusiast and a proud car owner. The only difference being that enthusiasts are little "weird" about cars, comparing them to women is just... wow. It's not worth writing the contract let alone setting up payrole for them, I wouldn't trust them to be value for money, I don't expect people to be on their first cars / girlfriends etc but if they can't show determination to succeed or ability to stay the course, then it shows their sort of mentallity, and it's a very poor one and it shows he's just a waster that will throw things away rather than work at them. It's taking pride in your life. just to set the reecord straight, I refused all compo except the value of the car and donated it to charity, despite bein a student at the time. I still suffer from chronic back pain 12 years later and have to walk with a stick. I'm not even readin that twats posts anymore, he can sit there and shout as loud as he wants - he again has proved my point by being members of all those other forums: no loyalty or commitment and I bet he's been chased off the other forums as well for being a total knob!!
