the_big_man
Hello All. after selling my Escort Cabby last year i really fancied another Escort but i've already most models (this will be my sixth!). I've always loved the cossie. But i can't afford a real one but did manage to find a replica. This car is in a sorry state and needs two new sills and a battery tray, interior and loads of other parts (the list is massive!). But anyways, i picked it up tuesday last week and have only so far pulled the bumper, headlights and one or two other parts off. It's currently also a 1.6 CVH but one of customers is scrapping a Mk1 Mondeo which is currently attached to an auto box. Result...just not looking forward to changing the wiring from a CVH to a zetec :\ Anyways, enough of my rabbitting on. Here is some pics of it as it stands. This will be a 2 year project to make sure everything is done right and to a high standard. http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y247/l99amm/Cossie035.jpg http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y247/l99amm/Cossie034.jpg http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y247/l99amm/Cossie033.jpg http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y247/l99amm/Cossie032.jpg http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y247/l99amm/Cossie013.jpg this is from where i bought it from http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y247/l99amm/Cossie012.jpg http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y247/l99amm/Cossie011.jpg front end coming apart http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y247/l99amm/cossie013.jpg lowered ground clearance http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y247/l99amm/cossie017.jpg my mate also bought this to strip too on the same day http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y247/l99amm/cossie003.jpg also had to change a cam cover gasket on my business partners 645ci....not fun!!! http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y247/l99amm/cossie004.jpg

Cheers Mate... Am kinda worried about how much rust is hiding behind all the body kit. Original wings and rear arches have been cut out by prvious owner so i know i need to make proper mounts to help strengthen the wider arches. HIGHTOWER
I like that! It looks a good rep and a lot of money has been spent on that, why would anyone let it get to that state? It even has the high rear arches! When I first saw it I thought it was a real one!
the_big_man
My hit list is a few pages long. Nexthing i'm doing to it is to rip the dash out and carpet and go rust hunting. Not bad for £
the_big_man
Not much happening today. Just playing with the bumper getting all the cracks out and damaged fibreglass...fun. Also picked up my old welder from a friend http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y247/l99amm/bumper003.jpg http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y247/l99amm/bumper005.jpg http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y247/l99amm/bumper006.jpg there is more damage to the bumper than first thought...stupid mounts broke when removing the bumper so gotta sort that out too

Georgio
Niiiiice!Yoy have some work to do there, but that's why projects are, aren't they?I would also think the Fiesta RST engine to be transplanted. It will sit on the same mounts, less wirring hassle and 130 bhp from it's standard version. And of course some nice turbo spooling sounds too Edited April 10, 2013 by Georgio

the_big_man
Its gonna be a LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOONG road to repairing this. Reason for changing to a zetec is A it's a 2.0 litre and B its going to get treated to a T2 Turbo and full strip and rebuild Its gonna be a LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOONG road to repairing this. sidrick
Great project, will definitely be following. Can't help but think that by the time you're finished the money you'll have spent could probably almost buy a Cossie.
