Hope that welder you got back doesn't see to much action but i got a funny feeling its gonna, your a braver man than me taking on a project like that and keeping a mrs sweet while she's planning a wedding good luck.

Thanks :) I'm betting on finding a load of rust. The joy of bodykits is they hide too much

Keep at it, rust can be removed and replaced with nice clean metal when u have the will to do so :D

looks like a great project, good luck with it :)

Started ordering some parts today. New battery tray and a pair of sills, new cosworth hockey sticks and Mk6 mirrors and some shard in fiberglass!!

Engine removal will be happening next week and this is how it stands now. Also went round the car looking for where the fiberglass needs repairing / replacing. Rear chassis legs look rusty but when poked are actually still strong (despite appearance). There is a small hole in one side of the boot but not on the other

1.6 cvh to be removed

To b honest I always bought classics in need of repairs like this.

It's a ford, they rust like hell and most ppl bodge them to death so u best start from scratch knowing the car is right.

It will last u years man if done right

This is going to be done right, if its worth doing once its worth doing right :) Plus seeing as this will receive a good hard run every now and then it needs to be safe

Anything been happening to this of late???

funny you should ask...not a lot to be honest. Been flat out at work for a few weeks so had no time to strip the car. Emptied the car out today and removed the dash and carpet and remains of the interior to go rust hunting (wasn't hard to find!)

A proper OMFG with the rust levels found...new parts on order and a few dozen bottles of gas and reels of wire for the welder. Loads to do...

Not too much to report. New wheels and a fully stripped interior. Battery tray has been cut out.

The new wheels are 17" Team Dynamics Somethings!!!

Also managed to get a full set of XR/RS Headlights and side lights and wiring plugs to go with it.
