know that feeling. with my new job i get every saturday off and every sunday off so is pretty sweet. Can go in on days off to play with the car and when the workshop is quiet (like today and tomorrow). Have just been given keys as well so can pop in on sundays if i feel like it. The mrs is happy we've got a garden again (and the dog is too!). I'm not looking forward to rubbing down the entire shell but if it's gonna be painted then everything has to come off. Will be grabbing some mk5 doors at the weekend with central locking and leccy windows and mirrors and de-locked, will re-instate the drivers door lock for obvious reasons. At the same time i will also be getting my ST170 rear disc setup and mondeo callipers for the front.

Does anybody know which hoses to use for front and rear btw?

u want to get some ka brake hose brackets. check my thread. and mk 1 mondeo hoses for the front. and the rears you will want fiesta mk4 front hoses. and an st170 handbrake cable as its slightly longer than the standard focus one

u also want to be careful about the rears locking up before the fronts when usin the 170 rear setup!!

Another update :)

Nothing major, only changed the dash... easy enough with a couple wiring diagrams and a tonne of heat shrink and solder and a spare wiring loom. All is working now, apart from the fuel guage is reading below the red now??? Am guessing Mk6 fuel guage reads different to a mk5? Am needing to change the fuel pump for the engine change so is it worth shoving in a mk5 xr3i unit?

Not much happening today. Been to the breakers yard and got myself a mk5 heater control panel (as mk6 doesn't screw to the mk5 dash), new dials (pcb is rotten on old yellow dials), new heater vent trim as led holes in it and broken vent, 2nd din slot for the mk5 dash instead of cassette holder, mk5 steering wheel (Cabriolet [temporary]) AND a Zetec Silver Top 2.0 from a Mk1 Mondeo Auto with 61k on the clocks :) Just need a wiring loom, ecu etc for it and then also a new exhaust system, water pump and you guys know the rest on that conversion :)

No pics today :P

Rear end is neading the lamp holders cut out and mk5 units welded in this week hopefully hence why bumper is just rested in place. gotta grab my mk5 boot as well and then try and get the front end together, may be trying another set of front wings as not happy with how they look. mk5 cabriolet steering wheel for time being as no air bag etc, need to get the mk5 steering coweling though as steering wheel touches it :( Also got the cosworth front grill mounted too but unable to get bumper on as towing eye is in the way and had to work some customers cars so actually had to work!! lol
