central locking

Yeah, the Microscan CDL kit is more suitable.

It all depends how important it is to yourself to lock and unlock all the doors from the passenger side as well as from the drivers side, via door locks and internal levers/handles.

As your Alarm is remote controlled and will interface with the CDL, you don't require a remote control CDL kit.

Try this company:

The CDL kit featured is a single point locking kit, call them and ask for a price on the 4 door mulitipont CDL kit, thats a kit with 2 master door lock motors/actuators and 2 slave motors/actuators.

Without confusing matters further, you don't necassarilly need a multi-point locking kit to operate the Ford master door lock motors. It'll just be easier to fit by following the instruction of a multi-point locking kit and to substitute the lock motors.

The Ford master door lock fitted to the passenger door can be configured to operate with a single point locking kit, but it can be complicated and time consuming if you've never done it before, lots of trial and error.

A single point locking kit, that's a kit with one 5 wire master door lock motor and 1 or 3 slave motors.

A multi-point locking kit, that's a kit with two 5 wire master door lock motors and if required, 2 slave motors.

A CDL kit has 2 or more slave motors, no control module and is for use via a remote control system.

If you buy a multi point central locking module, without door motors, it will be less expensive and will include a loom and fitting instruction to install 2 master door locks and slave motors; although the loom may require extending.

When using a universal central door lock control module, no.

The Ford switches around the door lock barrels operate the Ford alarm system and dead locking facility, the universal CDL

control module doesn't normally have such features.

The Ford central door locking is operated by turning a key in the door lock barrel which moves a lever in the master door lock actuator, operating internal micro switches and activating the CDL, it is this you're attempting to replicate.

Yeah, that locking kit should be ok and replace the supplied door lock motors with the Ford door lock motors.

However, probably be a lot of trial and error attempting to configuring which wire does what to get the Ford door locks motors to operate correctly.

When connecting the Alarm, remember to configure the six lock wires for Negative or Postive locking, depending on which pulse is required to operates the CDL kit. Most probably positive locking but I can't remember, I guess the CDL kit rest at Negative.

If I remember correctly, each front door lock/latch contains the lock motors, in an all in one unit.

So there is possible a six wire multi plug and then also a separate two/three wire plug for the alarm/deadlock system.

Each rear door lock/latch mechanism, the motor is seperate and is connected to the latch by a bar.

The motor has a two/three wire plug.

Finding the correct configuration for the Ford front door lock motors will be time consuming, probably be easier to use the 5 wire master door lock motors supplied with CDL kit in both front doors and use genuine for parts for the rear doors.

Bear in mind, what you are attempting to achieve is fiddly and time consuming.
