shawdreamer Posted June 7, 2013 Share Posted June 7, 2013 hello guys anyone fitted a double din head unit into a mk 6 escort if so is it hard to fit in properly thank you guys If its a true 2din and not a 1.5din (which are often wrongly identified), then it'll take a bit of work trimming the upper and lower edges of your existing standard escort ford radio slot, sometimes you can get away with just trimming away the small 5mm lip at the top and bottom and itll just squeeze a 2din, other times you have to be a bit more "aggressive" to make it work. either way its not entirely impossible to do with a dremel or hacksaw blade and a half decent file, in such a way tha it doesnt look a mess once the stereos in. POSTIE Posted June 9, 2013 Share Posted June 9, 2013 if u take out the tape holder bit under the head unit cit the strip out thats left file it down so its the same as the outher edges the u can use a fascia fron a single head unit cut the top of so u only have the bottom part if it is one with a metal back srew a couple of tags that can flip over to secure it and then u can fit head unit as normal Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
