Ford connector plugs

Hi guys, not sure if this is in the correct section so mods please move if needed.

Im after a couple of connector plugs off the thermostat housing as the wires were covered in oil and have broken at the base of the connector. I was just thinking the best way to repair them was to buy two new connectors and replace them rather than butchering the old ones and soldering the wires back up etc

Ive tried calling a few breakers, browsing Ebay etc and cant find the connectors new. Am i looking in the right places or am i wasting my time?

Should i just get a couple of old ones from the scrappy or something and bodge it?

If i anyone can help im after these connectors with part numbers:

any pics? are they the same as a MK6? as could take the loom out the one I have?

I'd imagine they're the same but cant be sure, I'll try get some pics up tomorrow if I get chance.

Both connectors are two pin and have the number ES88A written on the them and then the part numbers I posted above. one connector goes into the front and one into the back of the housing if that helps? thats the best i can explain without pictures.

If this is the socket/plug on the sensor then it's a Jnr Timer 2 plug..

The stat housing contains two sensors. The one on the top is engine coolant temperature (ECT) and the one on the bottom goes to the engine temperature gauge on the dash. The bottom one is a Jnr Timer but the one on top is a proprietary round one, usually, unless you've changed sensor (which may be the wrong one, perhaps from a larger eec-v/mondeo type car?).

Do you have one of these?

Well..... As you say, I have the round one on the top which is ok. I now have two of the old Jnr connectors/plugs in front of me (damaged ones removed from housing) I assumed one was to do with the temp gauge on the dash as that stopped working quite some time ago but now  Im not sure what the other one does. Its obviously a sensor for something but its nothing obvious when the car is running to my knowledge.

Still not had chance to get pictures so the best way I can describe it is that one has come from the back of the housing area and one from the front. either way I'm going to order two of them at the weekend and stick them back on. I will get some pictures at the same time and post up

Thanks again Stu
