JohnD
Hi guys, just thought I'd show you my daily, funny looking thing but very handy, its a fully functioning mobility vehicle still with the ramp and hydraulics intact, low miles due to its former use, was used by Buckinghamshire fire and rescue to move wheeled pumps. Have done a few bits to it since these pics but not much, sadly I cant go bigger on the wheel choice as the complete rear end is bespoke so anything wide catches the shocks and the hydraulic rams, looking into ways round this but its a work in progress...Not many around and it's not many folks cup of tea but I love it,its can transport my friend in her wheelchair in the back and the next day move a mates lambretta..multitasking Escort style lol...http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7017/6766711605_be29c367e2.jpgescort chairman by jddubber, on Flickrhttp://farm8.staticflickr.com/7154/6766712279_3fdc782f16.jpgescort chairman 2 by jddubber, on Flickr
sidrick
I LOVE this! Surely some spacers and longer studs on the back will sort you out?
lee grout
Welcome to the site, you wernt lying lol it is funny looking Any plans for it bar a wheel change if you work it out? Spacers no good???
JohnD
Hi guys thanks for the replies, it is already running small spacers on the rear which were fitted when it was converted and if i run any wider that 165 tyres they still catch (in fact on one side the 165 still does a wee bit).Im going to try longer studs and bigger spacers but have to be careful as I want the rear hydraulics to still work. Im colour coding the bumper on the front as thanks to a wet road and some roadworks it now has a second hand green bumper on the front ,I will fit a splitter of some kind while the bumper is off for paint.I might lower the front a bit as I can run the rear wherever I like,I can get the exhaust touching the floor at the mo lol...I may get the roof done in blue but not sure on that yet
tomsy
That would make a great mini camper van escort not sure about sleeping but some seats a small fridge and stove a water tank your sorted.
JohnD
There was one on ebay that finished today fully fitted as a camper and it certainly worked may even treat it to so sideskirts but will see how it goes as it does some miles now it's with me have yet to meet another on the road thought there do seem to be a few Mk4 ones about

JohnD
Well been on a 4 wheel allign machine and it looks like the bespoke rear section of the van has been made slightly wrong. The passenger side wheel is slightly farther out compared to the drivers so longer bolts and spacers should take out the difference if I do it right :-)
JohnD
http://farm6.staticflickr.com/5463/9429160113_3f7a157d8b.jpgpopemobile by jddubber, on Flickr Now with new wheels, they look like Xr4x4 rims but they aren't (these have the motorsport logo on one spoke just like RS1600i ones but are only 14 inch Xr4x4 have several numbers on different spokes and are et41, these are 35) they are from the RS accessory catalogue, quite a nice find in a scrappy and don't catch on the rear so happy days there, please excuse the green front bumper,it didn't agree with a Vivaro van, it'll be blue by Ford Fair
