i have no idea what these came out of, they have made in west germany stamped on the bottom so i know theyre old as fcuk, maybe someone could tell me what vehicle they were fitted to originally?

also fitted a new gearstick. a 9 ball.......because 9 is 1 more than 8

these didnt cost me anything. its still be road legal and as suched it will still be used on the roads. but the idea is to gear towards a super budger track toy

received my cossie 4 piston calipers in the post

http://i1085.photobucket.com/albums/j432/scottybo1/2013-11-10194601_zps8107744a.jpg

started stripping them, need a refurb as they are badly corroded. only managed to get 4 of the pistons out, the other were jammed so im going to soak in a bucket of oil for a few days to try and loosen things up. i have access to a sand blaster at my dads so i think that will be the plan!

Nice little project. Always used to like messing round with my mate's Mk1s and 2s but we never really put enough effort it to make it onto the road or track...

Some strange wear spots on the seats....??

i asked that myself, but they didnt cost me anything so im not bothered lol

a mk2 is the perfect little go kart!

Yeah....I've only ever driven one on a field but even then I could feel that.

Will it get a cage for the track?

im trying to keep the total build cost including the £300 for the car.....to less than £500 lol

super budget bad boy. the car with a full 12 months MOT cost me £300

- recaros were free

- managed to make about £30 so far selling pieces of interior trim. also got the old pepper pot wheels to sell, hoping for £60 for them

- will be fitting the old zetec engine from my escort so thats free

- so far spent £70 on some suspension (second hand)

- got some cossie 4 piston callipers to fit as well, cost me £20 as they need a refurb

so total spend so far is £360 quid lol

Looks good on the alley cats.

As a whole I like what your doing.

Shame you dumped the interior stuff I would of had the parcel shelf and wooden bits that sit on boot floor

The alleycats are aftermarket ones I believe and in Capri offset?

Wicked project though

Buy my xr2 engine ;-)
