bronze4door
well one is on my track car and my other car needs an exhuast and rather than wait for my un-reliable friend to put his on it and cause issues if he doesn't buy the car and i sell it to someone else (which i can see happening) i purchased the second one to throw on it
scottybo
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Escort-mk6-stain...=item43c3bf8731 any good for you?
Neil-Serenade
I did come across that one mate but too far for me. I've settled on just having a pipe for the centre snywsys and don't need a cat. Still getting a few prices for a stainless steel pipe in lieu of the middle box if you know anyone? Cheers. Neil-Serenade
Just had a quick look but I'm definitely going for just the stainless steel centre pipe, just waiting to hear back from one or two others. I'll probably just go with that for now and wait until the back box has gone then change it. Anyone ever heard of a make called ProFlow? Its more universal boxes but they do fit a MK6. Only thing is they don't come with a fitting kit off the shelf, only if you have it fitted which seems odd. Have seen a few universal boxes on ebay for £60. Neil-Serenade
Just heard back from the place where i was going to ahead and have just a centre pipe fitted and first they said MOT wise it be fine but now they are saying it may fail on the noise level. I don't want to keep having to mess about changing it over for a middle box and I don't want to pay out for something which maybe useless.

I recall theres a few sellers on ebay now doing various sized temp baffle inserts for backboxes that basically reduces DB output for a short term. iirc (but dont quote me) their a simple job of inserting them directly into the end of your backbox and your ready to go. Id expect them to strangle your exhaust a bit though so I dont think theyd be a good longterm option and just something you slot in before MOT then pull back out once youve got your slip in your hand. supersport
mine hasn't failed on noise, and my old exhaust was silly loud! will only fail on noise if it's a standard exhaust with no baffles in it, like my sister's astra did last year. supersport
no, the insides of the box fell apart, so i pulled the horse hair out and welded the tail pipe back, but it failed the mot for being tonoisy, so had to put another back box on it.
