Mike-evans
Car always runs hot. Recent new water pump and coolant, still runs hot. Just had a nose under the bonnet and, all the rad is warm (not blocked), heaters are boiling, all hoses are hot except the one on the bottom of the expansion tank!! Air in system? Whats the best way to get all the air out?

Mike-evans
Yes possibly. The heaters do get warm very quick though and stay warm, does that mean the thermostat is opening? When fitting a new thermostat, is it meant to go in a certain way? Hole at top or bottom.... sure I've read that somewhere..
scottybo
to get the air out. open the top of cap of the coolant reservoir. turn the engine on. walk away. come back an hour later lol i had to do this 3 or 4 times to get the air out of my focus

Jacko_XR3i
Sorry to bump an old'ish' post but I'm having exactly the same symptoms, so rather than starting another thread... does anybody know the outcome of this problem!? Thanks!
