Have a new switch but need info on how to get the old one out without mullering the dash......

Do you mean the panel with three round switches?

If so:

Remove steering wheel

Remove 2 Phillips screws from near instrument cluster

Pull off round switches

Prise out dash switches and disconnect. Eg. Fog switch, heated rear screen etc

The dash surround should now pull out with a bit of effort. Its held in by some clips that you can't see and will pull free.

Once the dash surround is off, you will have access to the heater panel, attached to the dash surround with 4 Phillips screws I think.

 

If unsure, by a Haynes manual, its all in there.
