demented
What is the factory stated rpm of a totally standard Escort 1.8gtl when idling at normal engine temp ? Also, idle from cold required too ?
scottybo
should be aroun 800rpm Edited April 10, 2014 by scottybo
demented
Thanks. You sure that low ? At present, mine is on verge of stalling at 800rpm When cold, it's at 1200 rpm which sounds too high. My Rs2000 idles when cold at around 1050-1100 and once warm drops to 950. I know they're different type of engines but I did expected idle to be similar. tomsy
I'd say mine was about 800 with no deviations.

opexo
880 is in the books. Edited April 13, 2014 by opexo
demented
Thanks Opexo Got mine sorted now and it's closer to 900 rpm than 800, so prob 850/880 Once engine at Normal temp, it was struggling to idle at 800 rpm and would stall when power steering used whilst braking.
