escort gti engine swap advice

Hello people im new to a forum thought id start with that, iv got a gti in need of some serious tlc !!! Relatively low mileage but needs a bit of body work and...

strut tops

bottom arms

drop links

front bearings

pads and disk

pluss a few other bit lol

however am also thinking of an engine change, iv red that the 2ltr silvertop zetec engine and box will fit in !? what else will need to be done are the engine mounts the same...any thing on tuning the engine aswel either my standard gti or the 2ltr!? Thanks guys

Thanks I had a look at the link ,would I be able to use some of the parts off of my 1.8 engine ie sump, pick up and water pump?

Yeah, you'll need to use your sump, otherwise the engine will not fit.

 

For the small cost, fit a new 1.8 Zetec waterpump

Thanks only other issue is the loom Im capable of doing most of the work but am I better of getting a auto electrician in to swap that and the ecu or is it simple enough? Thanks again

Just a case of swapping a few pins so fairly simple

 

Alternatively have you thought about upping your 1.8 to 130 spec? May be fhe easier option
