demented Posted April 28, 2014 Share Posted April 28, 2014 Yeah, the Gti ib5 box will fit, although if you cabby starter motor is at the front & Gti starter motor is at the back, then this may cause issues. Ensure the cabby starter motor will align with gearbox fixing holes and when fixed & inserted into box, prior to gearbox indtallation, ensure the starter motor pinion gear is able to mate with the flywheel ring. The wiring for starter motor will probably require re-routing & extending too. This is probably the reason why some mechanics have their doubts.
