scottybo
Thanks everyone for your help. One last question. The pins outs provided for both ecus appear to be wildy dufferent. The 1.6 ecu seems to have double the amount of pins compared to the 1.8 ecu. But physically they look identical. any ideas?
Stu
EEC-IV is 60 pin, EEC-V is 104 (or something) pins. There is a late EEC-IV ECU which is an EEC-V in drag, same number of pins.
scottybo
Recon i should open them up and check which pins are live and which arent? or alternatively could someone tell me which 1.8 ecus are 204 pins
Georgio
Perhaps I don't understand something, but... isn't is possible to count the pins on the ECU connector? It is in double groups of 10 pins in each row and has 3 rows if it is EEC IV. At least my RST ECU, my sierra ECU and my previous loom on my Escort which was 1.4 cfi... all of them are EEC IV and the connector is 60 pinned even if the pins are not all populated, the connector holes are there numbered from the side that the wires goes inside the connector...
