How much movement?

Car wanders terrible, and steering is sometimes snappy....

Checked bottom arms tonight, and prying between subframe and bottom arm, and theres a lot of up and down movement on both bushes on each arm....

Does that mean they are knackered? Is any up and down movement normal?

Dissapointed if so, as they are gen Ford arms 12 months old.

there should be a degree of movement on ford arms but generally they should be quite stiff (almost unyeilding if your just waggling the arm with your hand), usually take the use of a good pry bar to shift em about really noticably.

is your motor lowered at all, uprated struts or springs?

any and all amounts of reasons can account for lower arm munching in 12 monthes.

Car is lowered ~35mm on coilovers.

I used a bar approx 18" in length and pryed between subframe and underside of bottom arms. There was notible up and down movement.....

Tramlining is a good description, it does seem to follow ruts in the road.

I do have a set of 16s I could put on there to try out and see if it resolves it.

Very annoying. Not sure if I need to replace the bottom arms?

Yes, that means they're knackered. Obviously.

It's not really Fords problem. It's a pitfall of running a car so low.
