Bigbuduk
Hi new to these forums after a bit of advice pleaseI have a 2000 x reg escort estate 1.6 zetec (90hp) and i need a bit more power from it so i have purchased a 1.8 zetec silver top engine think it,s the 115hp version out of escort si. I was just wondering if it is a straight swap or will i have to change the ecu ,wiring looms, inlet manifold etc, also i have herd that putting 2l mondeo cams will take it up to 130hp is this easy to do (don't mean physically changing them just tuning with diff cams)Thx for any help given
condor83
Hi, I tryed 2l cams, ain´t a big deal, especially if you are using it as a daily driver. That´s because you will gain some HP above 4k or 5k and loose some below that. But try them, maybe you will like them. If you don't have the manifold and injectors of the 1.8 ST maybe you would need them, because for sure the injectors are "smaller" than the ones in the 1.8.. Good luck. scottybo
Wiring looms will be fine. Yes you will need the 1800 manifolds. As well as maf and exhaust. as for the ecu as yours is a 2000 reg then it wld have an ecu with both internal pats and internal edis so i would recomend a slug coded ecu with matching transponder ring and key
