O-Z Posted January 9, 2004 Share Posted January 9, 2004 i want to get a new set of wheels to replace the standard 15's on my escort GTI> how big can i go before modifications need to be made to fit them on. i've been told i can go as big as 17's and they will just bolt straight on. can someone help me? also, i cant remember who's car it was. but it was the green one with the RS wheels...they look sweet, can the person who's got them tell me where i can get my hands on em? Evv Posted January 9, 2004 Share Posted January 9, 2004 got some team dynamic monzas with 205/40/17's on with a 40 mm drop and and i got no rubbing. Monzas cost £720 brand new for 17". U can get them in white coz Rich V got them on his. cost me £72 for the springs from larkspeed. O-Z Posted January 10, 2004 Author Share Posted January 10, 2004 yea i think i will just get springs, because i dont want to spend alot getting the car lowered. i know chrissy bwoy has spent shite-loads of money on coil-overs etc. but i only wanna spend about £80 to drop mine by about 40mm. just to stop the car looking like a 4x4 with massive gaps. i take it u have just used springs on your car Evv to fit the 17's on? what does it look like with just a 40mm spring drop....does it look good?
