scuzzie2k
ive been advised to have a stage 1 head put on my 1.6 8v escort oh and a cam! will this make much difference? and how much do you think i am looking at??
RobRS1300
depends what your definition of stage 1 is, a lot of places consider stage 1 to be just a general de-coke and clean up of the head with very little gas flowing, should cost upward of £200, as for a cam it depends exactly what you are looking for, most major manufacturers such as kent or piper dont rate their cams as stage 1, 2 etc, but as fast road, race, rally etcIt may be worth speaking to local enginering companies about getting you existing cam re-profiled. For a full kent or piper fast road kit you are looking at around £
cossie rep
on a 1.6 no not really. Best thing to do is save the money and buy a second hand 2.0 ltr and have a engine transplant
RobRS1300
cossie rep, his is a cvh not a zetec, so is much more tunable in the 1.6 format, trust me its a very tunable engine, which is why i am in the process of re-building one to go in mine, as opossed to a zetec. scuzzie, go for a euro engines stage 2 head at £270 and a kent cvh 32k kit
