After only owning my Subaru Impreza P1 for three weeks the engine decided to give up.. :curse: :vangry:

It sounds like the big end bearings have gone, due to oil being stuck at the back of the engine, which as i have found out recently is a very common problem on P1's.

It's been reported on the P1 owners club that 7 have blown up within the last month all resulting in a engine rebuild costing about £3000-£4000

I always thought it was going to be expensive owning a high performance car.. :nutter:

I did with the RAC but it does cover Subaru Prices, So i'll have to pay the rest of the bill.

I know its going to cost £400 - £500 just for them to listen to the problem. So I don't want to know how much it will all cost ??

:(

Unlucky mate, I think theres always a risk of owning a high power car ;(
sh*t m8 :( sorry to hear that, seems like a silly problem to have tho :( stupid subaru.

Yes it was from a garage they gave me a Gold class RAC warrenty which will cover the parts and up to £34 an hour labour costs up to £17k but Subaru charge £65 an hour labour and they say the job will take a week to do.

Steve

wots the point in the cover then ?( cuz y they selling u cover like that, if its useless for the car ur buying if it goes wrong? ?(
i had my car 3 weeks and the exhurst snapped in half, when i took it back they replaced the whole system, when i asked how come, they said the car must be fit for the purpose it was sold for ie; driving!! obvisously it wasn't with a fcuked up exhurst!! ;) this stands for anything bought i have since found out, you have 28 days, if it goes wrong after 28 days then it's your problem!! :)) ask them you have nothing to lose!! :))

shite ;(

hopefully, now it's out the way tho, there won't be no more serious problems, just hope it aint the 1st of a load
