Posted June 12, 200420 yr was a luvly n-reg t-bar mr2, uk spec everything i wanted for a very cheap price.. even more it was a near exact colour to Ampero Blue so cheap it was too perfect was ready to sort a deal today but wanted to hpi check it first.. Thank F*ck i did! came up as a Catagory D Write off. We noticed that the front had been resprayed but the seller seemed quite genuine and said the bumper had just been replace so it's back to the search
June 12, 200420 yr i think you should have a close look again cos category D isn't necessarily that bad as long as it's been repaired to a good standard... get AA or RAC to check it out

June 12, 200420 yr i didn't know there could be insurance problems... once upon a time i was gonna do a CAT C focus > RS replica that could have been an error.......
June 12, 200420 yr Author i think you should have a close look again cos category D isn't necessarily that bad as long as it's been repaired to a good standard... get AA or RAC to check it out but the paint was patchy (not done to a good standard) so how do i know the rest of the repairs was not done on the cheap? also the guy told me, any damage had been done before he brought it cos the guy he got it off told him about the bumper being resprayed. the hpi check says that the claim was made in march 04, at this time the current seller had been the owner for 5 months! therefore if he lied about this maybe there is more hidden secrets, no history with the car at all walkin away and not thinkin about that one again

June 12, 200420 yr yep... i parent's won't buy a car unless they know the person who owned it, let alone without history good call... sorry about that but my dad's mate specialises in repairs and hence there can be some good ones around
June 12, 200420 yr Mate id leave it, gotta be very warey of m2's in particulary for stolen. Althou its uk spec still if you can check all the details dont bother cause waynes car was stolen and it wasnt till he checked the log book in detail he noticed it was one digit out and what have i told you bout the none turbo gonna look silly when i got my in december if u dont get one
June 12, 200420 yr good call getting it checked ant why not buy something newer, less likely to fall apart and cost big bucks per month Edited June 12, 200420 yr by JonC
June 12, 200420 yr Personally I wouldn't of even wasted my money on an HPI check if it had no history. I wouldn't even have gone to see it! Save yourself some time Ant and ask losts of questions before going to see any! But I'm sure you will find one soon
June 15, 200420 yr i think you should have a close look again cos category D isn't necessarily that bad as long as it's been repaired to a good standard... get AA or RAC to check it outYea, but insurane companys can be very very warery of a car re-built after a write off unless it was a reshell. need a quick answer please.......do insurance companies know if a car has been a write off i.e will they not insure me if its a write off or will it cost more or will i have to inform them its been/is a wirte off???
