Cyrix
Where abouts can i get one made up + Fitted? Rebel powerpipes and powerflow are only really interested in sellnig me a full system, at £240 which isnt that bad tbh, but i only really want the decat pipe as my mate has already offered to do the rest of the system as a favour. ideally i want a removable section........ John
unless u r gonna get a bit of engine work done then seriously don't bother, i left my cat off for the RR and it makes Fcuk all difference in terms of power! mines going back on as soon as i can be arsed
Cyrix
I was under the impression it was restrictive in some way, hmmmmm, was gonig to go straight thru to a magnex, PiperX induction kit, Dastek, and a bit of headwork
John
well depending on the engine work then yeah it might be usefull to remove it but de-cating for the sake of it is now officialy a pointless idea
Mexico RS
i had mine de-cated and did not notice much in the way of performance so my cat has gone back on. However i have the pipe in the garage if you want to by it all you have to do is bolt it on. £10 its yours.....

Ex-Finesse
Search for 'cat' in mechanical modifications, topic only, and you'll get info overload.

Lambo
i noticed a difference in my car mate, runs a lot smoother now, and accelerates better.
foxdie
I put my CAT back on after just having a straight pipe (bypassing CAT and Middle box) the car felt a little breathless. This was because a Naturally aspirated engine requires a degree of back pressure (in the form of resistance) in the exhaust, a good Cat is exactly this. Obviously its a different story for turbo'd cars, a single pipe from the downpipes is the best option, expell those gases ASAP, get anything up to 20lbs over standard on a decent spec turbo car i.e WRX
Lambo
mines a janspeed de-cat, but its not a straight through bit of pipe, it looks like and silencer, so i think it supplies a certain degree of back pressure. Tis different for every car though, so just gonna have to try a see.
