Those were the days when it came down to the skill and courage of the driver. I'm not saying that modern F1 isnt dangerous, it's just too evenly matched and it's the same old drivers at the front etc I'd love to have seen that on the go Sadly Cargy what you say is all too true - Dad's driver, Jack Smith (Canadian) was killed at Snetterton when the car spun off and rear-ended the barriers - he broke his neck, which is something that would never happen with today's safety measures.
