alan_edward
I just got my car today from the sprayers. Had standard bumpers replaced to rs ones. But the colour in my opinion is not matching well. I got the paint mixed from a professional shop. But the shop who sprayed my car told me that it would take 2 weeks for the colour to blend in.. Is that true or false? Cheers Alan

sorted_mk6
all paints can be difficult to match up, there aint an easy colour to match up. i sprayed mine last week, had it professionally mixed but still dint match, i had to add jet black to it to match it up better.just give it a t-cut n see how it looks, t-cut helped mine. Ex-Finesse
Sorry to hear it mate Very little you can actually do. Loads of things affect the paint, including the air pressure going through the gun, air temperature, etc. Even if paint comes out perfectly, put it under some orange street lights. Chances are it'll look well out because paint changes colour in coloured lighting. A friend of mine had a door resprayed red to remove scratches. In daylight it looked factory, but under the orange light the door looked brown and the rest of the car yellow!
Markt8
The bodyshop i go to is always a perfect match, think you should go back tbh
Pete
Its always hard to match paintwork 100% as the original paint will have been weathered over the years

True, but I think it's actually because the orangy yellow streetlights are almost mono-chromatic (very difficult to get a perfect monochrome light) Regular daylight is made up of loads of different colours of light

Get the 'colour' (ie. wavelength of the light) right and panels will look white!
