dirty_escort Posted July 24, 2004 Posted July 24, 2004 Hey, in the next couple of months im thinking of upgraded my BHP due to my insurance coming down..... basically I dunno what to do or what i could do with my 1.4i, i don't really wanna change engines but might if i can't do alot with mine.... basically my engine at the mo is totally standard, what else can i do, what price will i be looking at + what sort of BHP would i get out of it? Thanks Pete
sortedford Posted July 24, 2004 Posted July 24, 2004 your looking at a new bigger engine mate, you wont really get any power gains thats noticeable from that engine
Dunk Posted July 24, 2004 Posted July 24, 2004 the 1.4 is a shite engine. get a 1.6 out of a XR 2or 3i. or even better a RST.
dirty_escort Posted July 25, 2004 Author Posted July 25, 2004 the prospect of installing a new engine any links where i can see whats on offer and prices...... im gonna do a search now
M4TT Posted July 25, 2004 Posted July 25, 2004 the prospect of installing a new engine any links where i can see whats on offer and prices...... im gonna do a search now sounds like u can just get them of the shelf at yr local halfords, hahah lol
sortedford Posted July 25, 2004 Posted July 25, 2004 your gonna have to talk to different companies mate, theyll all be different prices
Mike C Posted July 25, 2004 Posted July 25, 2004 gotta be a new engine if ya want more power, 1.4 aint really tunable at all. 2.0 Zetec is still the best to go for IMO, but cos urs aint a zetec, u'd have 2 change engine mounts etc, but get a few quotes to see what u can find. If u have 2 stick 2 CVH then get an RST lump in there
jonnybelfast Posted August 4, 2004 Posted August 4, 2004 Agreed. Anyone know if a USA 1900 CVH will fit on the mounts? If i'm upgrading i still lookin for a 3i but i've heard mad t6hings about yank lumps and theres a a bashed one near me.Jonny
