ford immobilizer problems

hiya peeps, got a problem with my si. it's a 1998 ® and the immobilizer cuts in while driving. it is definately the immobilizer, hoping you guys know of a way to fix it or disable it. dont fancy fitting new ecu/locks/ignition barrel ect

have been told it could be the ignition relay or the fusebox. will have to investigate tomorrow. god knows how i will tell though, might have to get an auto electrician to have a look.

you dont wanna be doing that, those bar stewards cost £40 odd an hour for farting about playing pokey with a test light

 

check for loose connections and bad earths id suggest,somethings triggering it.

how do you know its the imob ?

IS the red light constant on the clock? I had it on mine and it was a loose connection somewhere nder the stering column, pushed and pulled a few connectors and it worked, only did it when i tried to start it.

 

Think yors is more terminal cos its donig it while driving, Soulds like a typical fse box fault to me!!!!

well, i seem to have fixed it was something to with my amp i think. its fine with it disconnected, but no wires were loose.

spoke too soon, it's just started again, but its not making the car stop at the mo.

 

the loose wire idea does seem to be the most likely problem
