Posted July 26, 200420 yr me and chappers were discussing this.. heard some nice ones recently. Ferrari Modena nicely roared past me last week. Also heard a Gollardo a couple of weeks ago and a ferrari 550. but mine has to be TVR Tuscan There was one coming from the Lowry Hotel a couple of weeks ago... sounded Godly. I see a few here and there.. I think they definitely have a pressence of their own
July 26, 200420 yr A highly tuned big-block (c. 9lt) chevvy V8 in a 35ft racing powerboat. Heard it during the Winter Gold Cup race off Bournemouth, it was doing around 70mph. Another beautifully sounding engine is a 2-stroke I have. It's a Mercury XR10 outboard - 282cc, twin cylinder, single carb, producing 10bhp (at prop = at wheels) at 6,000rpm. It sounds fantastic when the boat leaps out the water on waves because all of a sudden the exhaust is out the water, and being 2-stroke it make twice as much noise! I love it so much I'm chucking in the money I have saved for a 2Litre and I'm getting this engine rebuilt and a couple of performance goddies thrown at it and the boat

July 26, 200420 yr i like the sound of so many engines ones that stick out r def TVR, but the ferrari testarossa i drove sounded pretty mint as well
July 27, 200420 yr Also love the sound of any big diesel engine with turbo winding down. The classic 14 litre Scania V8's are ace in that respect, along with Volvo 16 litre straight 6's. As for road cars, a 360 CS which recently passed me and my Dad, dropping a gear in the process.
July 27, 200420 yr the nicest sounding engine i've ever heard was proberbly a honda VTR SP-1 race bike with twin Devil cans.....such an awsome sound. an other favourite of mine was when i saw a Big Foot monster truck with a 1800bhp Chevy V8, at a show in Peterborough years ago!!!!
