I've got a finesse as most of you know and for some stupid reason it has one of those 2mm black sticker lines down either side of the car! Roughly in the middle!

I pealed them off the other day it its left like a layer of glue or whatever it is and i cant get if off! I've just spent an hour doin the driver side front corner side and it isn't even finished, theres steel marks! I'm using boiling boiling hot water aswell!

I've been told i can use petrol & white spirit but i know if i use white spirit, my luck it will go tits up and muck up the paintwork!!

& petrol sounds dodgy! + i don't have a petrol can and dont really wanna walk up to the station with a milk bottle and fill it up! They probably won't even let me do that!

C'mon, finesse boys n girls, some of you must have got rid of that fuckin line! How did you do it?

*i would get some pics up but my dad has the digy cam*

:(

[EDIT]

You can see the black line i'm talking about in this picture! It runs in line with the handles!

yeah and proberbly blister the lacquer too!

best method will be to simply use some elbow grease and some patience am afraid ;(

oh and petrol will damage ur laquer in the long run, so dont use it

WD-40 works, and its safe too :thumb:

That's if you don't wash it all off very thoroughly. Lots of water and rubbing with your fingers will get rid of any petrol :thumb:

White spirit is good to use, just don't use too much and don't rub too hard. When you're done wash it off like above.

Don't be too afraid you will go through the paintwork, because it is pretty tough! Before mine went in for respray, I cleaned the rear badges' glue off with straight thinners. Took quite a bit of time to go through the lacquer alone, plus thinners is loads harsher than everything else mentionned :thumb:

when I got rid of the stripe and the 'dance' sticker that was on the side of my old Panda ( :D ) left a huge amount of sticky gooey stuff behind (no sex wee jokes please) 8)

It all came off with a hairdryer mate, then t-cutted out. :thumb:

i had that when i pulleed the plastic bumpstrips off my fiesta

i used petrol and a soft plastic rubber knife, and scraped it off, then give it a good wash , and then t cut

minty mint!
