Posted July 27, 200420 yr Whats the crack with these I've always assumed you have to be a car 'trader' who buys and sells etc. But a lad I know has just bought a mint 3 door Sierra Cosworth and I asked him how much his insurance was. He just said 'I'm on a traders policy so it doesnt make any difference' So I asked him how many cars do you have to sell to get that policy and he looked at me as if I was daft and replied 'I haven't sold any!!!' This is his 5th car if that makes any difference
July 27, 200420 yr TBH Pete, i know a lad on an escos, he's on one of these policies, and thast his only car!

July 27, 200420 yr I thought trader policies were around £500-£600 Thats what he told me dude. He said he rang one company up, and they suggested he do it this way, or he wouldnbt be able to get insured!
July 27, 200420 yr most traders policys are about a grand and most of them u have to be 25 to have 1 some are 21 but u are limited to only 2.0ltr engine im doin it next year hopfully will be about £1500 for me as i will be 21 so its not bad thing to get and u dont have to sell any cars to have it
July 27, 200420 yr balls to that then. Wouldnt bother with it. I would far rather gather NCB up and have Pee cheap insurance in 5 years time than have steep insurance on a really nice car now and still have really steep insurance in 5 years time.

July 27, 200420 yr just try claiming when you need to.... or when you put it into a ditch when not 'on business'...
July 27, 200420 yr I have a traders policy, cost me £360 TPFT. will prob never claim unless my supra gets nicked, had the policy for 3 years now, and as far as i know i still have full no claims.Biggest down side, if i do have to claim i won't get any more than bottom trade value for it.
