Took me 3 hours to fit it! i thought ah well i'll have a go, cut the hose from the servo to the inlet manifold, then realised that it was pretty ridgid rubber! i had to stick a knife into it to shave it a bit thinner but still couldnt get the valve to slot in. So, i sanded down the connections on the valve, still bloody hard, so out comes the lighter!!! heated up the hose and stretched it. Now i could get the hose over the valve connections but it was slipping off before i could tighten the jubilee clips, so out comes the Loctite! glued em on, then tightened the jubilee clips and tuned the valve. Doesnt make a very nice noise sounds like when your engines fcuked and grinds. I was hoping for a sort of turbo whistle but no such luck. I tightened it up so theres hardly any noise from it. Now for the good part. My mate has a daihatsu charade 1.3 XI P Reg, mine was faster than his, then he stripped it and cleaned it and fitted a powerboost valve and started to beat me to 50ish. The ecotek has taken all my flat spots and wiped them out and i know wipe the floor with him, oh and i also beat a mondeo, could have been a 1.6/1.8/2.0 i dunno but either way a wins a win!

Trust me! go and buy an ecotek valve they are easily worth the money just for the loss of the flat spots

EDIT:the mondie was either a 1.8 or a 2.0 as it was a mk2

ill be honest i bought one and fitted it but noticed hardlky any differenct in economy or power etc

I reckon the difference is psycological! My car felt just as fast on 17s as it did on 14s!?!?!?!!

 

Maybe it was because I was much happier with the car It's not like I don't drive it hard!

colins performance in cheshire, who do my car, said not to waste my money putting one on!!

The truth is, ive heard the good press, the bad press, etc and i thought well what the hell, i put it on and my flat spots are gone, no psychology about it please bear in mind my car has only covered 10700 miles so isnt respective of all 1.6 zetecs, im sure it will vary from car to car.

i had one and it really was w@nk im afraid

 

but that was on my old mk5 1.4cvh, only bought it because a certain car mag said they were great....i dont buy the mag anymore btw
