Posted July 30, 200420 yr ok i am going to wire in my amp and stuff over the weekend hopefully and i was just woundering if this is right. the wire coming from the car battery to the amp- to get this to the battery on a mk6 escort i remove the passenger front wheel and remove the wheel arch cover and the will be a grommet there (somewere) just feed to cable through there. now how do i remove the arch cover is it just screwed on or what and also if the grommet is letting the wire to the battery how do i get it to the inside of the car is there another hole to fed it in the footwell. also how do i get this wire to the boot. along the side in the panel but when i come to the back seat how do i get in into the boot. cheers
July 30, 200420 yr along the side in the panel but when i come to the back seat how do i get in into the boot. then run it under the rear bench and pop it out at the rear of the seats into the boot. Yes u will need to remove the arch........ not too sure what they are held on with tho. I just ran my power wire from the battery inside wing and in thru the door between the gap in the door and wing.......the lazy man's way lol, but it does the job and doenst get wet or catch on the door.
August 2, 200420 yr theres a better way instead of goin through arch if u drill level with ur battery but behind steering wheel in engine by "get pic soon" the cable will come behid ur dash, then run down side of car under trim under back seats into boot
August 3, 200420 yr from engine bay to cabin as u said is the easiest way really. wheel arch is just some torx screws and a bit of pulling. give it a good clean behind there too when u got it off to stop rusting. from cabin to boot just under the rear bench works a treat
