Leicester_Lad Posted August 1, 2004 Posted August 1, 2004 right if u swap you 105 ecu for a 130 spec ecu what about the coding on the ecu to the key if your keys are coded to the 105 ecu then when u plug the 130 spec ecu in the keys wont match and wont start how u get over this problem
Leicester_Lad Posted August 1, 2004 Author Posted August 1, 2004 still dont answer my question ! what do u do if u put the 130 spec ecu in do u have to get the ecu reprogrammed to the pats system ?
Rhino Posted August 1, 2004 Posted August 1, 2004 you have to take the ecu to ford mate, it does say you do realise you can't use the 130 spec xr3i ecu on a mk6 i presume you can get a 130 spec cab ecu, but they are rare as fcuk

Leicester_Lad Posted August 1, 2004 Author Posted August 1, 2004 i am lucky thought as my car is a mk 6 n reg but for some reason its still got a 95 wiring loom in it cus when i tranplanted the engine out of the car i crshed and went to plug the p reg mk ecu in when i had transplanted the engine it would not fit and found that my car has a 95 mkb wiring loom in it ? so a xr3i wiring loom ecu should fit ?
Cyrix Posted August 1, 2004 Posted August 1, 2004 Works both ways, My Mk5b had a mk6 floorpan so my RS seats wouldnt fit........... Sounds like you were quite lucky with that one!!!!
RobMk6 Posted August 3, 2004 Posted August 3, 2004 right, i was stripping my 1300 mk6 down the other day, all you need to do to make life easier is go about changing the ignition barrel, and when you get to it, you will notice that there is a small black plastic ring aroung the barrel. carefully remove this - find how it unplugs (it has 4 small black leads going into it that are actually labelled 1-4)unplug it and if you have one plug in the same item from the 130spec ECU that is the bit that reads the code in the keys, but if you dont have the keys to go with the ECU i spose your buggered anyway
zvh1900 Posted August 21, 2004 Posted August 21, 2004 go to fords they will hook ya car up to either wds , or fds2000, that is the main way to program them but u must have 3 keys 2 start the programming, 1 red key(master key) and 2 black keys (slave keys)
