but no insurance company will touch me till im 25! im not waiting 5 years to get a faster car!!! i really don't know what to do. the funds 4 my new car r easily available......but im just stuck at the moment....i don't want to buy a different car just for the sake of it, when i know its not what i REALLY want.

Scooby eh?/ I was looking at the red WRX on scoobynet, but they wouldnt touch me on a WRX, it had to be a turbo 2000 (like Petes), yet theyd do me on a sapphy 4x4 for 900fc!

yeah they really do need to sort out insurance...its fkin ridiculous atm, can be insured on an older car with more power but not on a newer car with less power, so stupid.

elephant.co.uk offered my insurance on a scooby at 21, and im insured on my car at 21 too!

yup, its useless.. Insurance is a bleeder! Can't blame them though.. it is high for a reason. Its the knob head idiots who drive without insurance [for example] and put our age range in the "most at risk" category in the first place. Just punishes us.. I remember when I was out once and I met a friend of a friend who was laughin coz he'd just had a drink driving ban at 18. I was not impressed.. I'm the one who then has to suffer.

 

But i tell you what. I've said this before.. if we were in America, this board would be called "Mustang EVolution" and we'd all be talking about our V6's no matter what age we were. When I was speakin to the college kids and High school kids from the US that were in Cancun, a lot of em were telling me they drove 3litre Grand Ams, 3000GT's etc. One of my pals who i met who was 26 had a 450bhp truck when he was in high school.

i've tried over 20 insurance companies. i think i may have to go for a UK model if i wanna b younger than 25 n own a scooby.

 

but im not finished yet. still have a few more tricks up my sleeve, so this red beaut could still b mine! muhahahahahaha!

i take it you have tried things like adrian flux, cis ect.

have you tried tescos and the aa there normally good for cover

and if you work for halfords you get a extra 15% discount (with aa)

No harm OZ, your 20 years old, with at MOST 2 years no claims bonus (if that!), and you already have insurance for a group 13 car, the gti, your doing pretty dm good as it is from my perspective.

 

General rules are 5 years no claims = fast car, or over 25 with a few years less, either way, your going to have to wait, im in the same boat trust me!

suppose. but group 13 aint good enough 4 me!

ill be waiting till im at least 22 before i think about n e thing faster than a mobility cart. wot i dont understand is how uk insurance companys charge way more than ones in the states. there must be some downsides to living in the usa
