Mike C Posted August 15, 2004 Posted August 15, 2004 just wondering which of my immediate plans should i do 1st in your opinions and why. They will all be coming before the 1st show next year. Cheers for ur feedback if u give any lol!
leegti Posted August 15, 2004 Posted August 15, 2004 go for the engine bud! think of the extra horses!!!!
Lee R Posted August 15, 2004 Posted August 15, 2004 coilovers, which can also be had for peanuts from G Sport engine aint worth doing with 18's unless it 250bhp Zetec with big torque, and that car NEEDS 18's

Lee R Posted August 15, 2004 Posted August 15, 2004 Turbo will follow a year down the line, but it'll be more than 250bhp! I doubt its needed. I'd always go for about 250bhp, cos that'll be as quick as 300bhp imo with less boost and more relaiblity

RobMk6 Posted August 15, 2004 Posted August 15, 2004 i voted for the suspension upgrade cos you really want a car set-up to handle any extra power cos IMO i think the GTi is sprung to cope with its power and abilities, so go coilovers and then the engine upgrade, but witha brand new engine don't you need to run it in, so you won't be able to give it some for a while
Mike C Posted August 15, 2004 Author Posted August 15, 2004 engine looks a good bet on the surface, and will continue the enquiries, but I'm thinking get Coilovers within the next 6 weeks, Rear discs the following month. Then its better equipped to take the 2.0 in January. That sounds like a plan to me, cheers for ur help people!

Lee R Posted August 15, 2004 Posted August 15, 2004 whatever you do, dont get coilovers without getting it set up properly, corner weighting etc... its like chipping without a RR session.
Mike C Posted August 15, 2004 Author Posted August 15, 2004 no expense will be spared on this car lol! It'll be early october time before i can afford them, but i'll definitely get the AVO colilovers from G-Sport if i'm able to. can i get them for £500?
Lee R Posted August 15, 2004 Posted August 15, 2004 can i get them for £500? yes. Rob, pass, but if MikeRS2300 was about, he'd tell ya the difference it makes. I've also driven his car after it, and its the best handling car i've driven.....PERIOD!!!!!
