Was ment to be staying at a lodge in leicester the ford fair night but didnt make it cos the car broke down. Now they have charged my g/f's bank account the full cost for the two rooms direct to her card.

 

What i dont get is travellodge dont accept payment without a signature (cos i had a massive Fcuk on trying to get a room in the docklands one cos they fucked up the paperwork) So how come on the website it says no money will be deducted ntil check in? Fcking hate this crap.

 

Its like when im not allwoed an overdraft on my bank account yet if i get a bank change, look im overdrawn by £30, how does that work.

where abouts in leic is this travel lodge? i might pop in and enquire about a room and how they take payment etc, then provide em with ur story and see wot they say lol, u shud be able to get ur money back tho

Exactly what I was thinking - did you give them sufficient notice so that they could re-let the room? If not, you would be liable for payment. Not their fault you broke down and the room(s) would be reserved for you. Just ask politely for a refund and see what they say.

I wouldnt mind betting thers small print somewhere saying they'll charge ya card if you leave em in the lurch

did you not ring them to cancel it when you new you couldnt make it ?

thats what you do on all hotel rooms give them your card number to prove that your gonna turn up cos if you dont they charge you for it i think you have to ring before about 6 o clock if your not gonna make it ive paid for a hotel before to get a cheaper price and i didn't even get a chance to cancel i paid whether i was there or not at least you had chance to cancel it
