Alternator's packed up

My Alternator's gone and packed up now!

Damn italian electronics! (it's magnetti marelli).

Typical of Ford too, for the 1.8D & TD alone there are about 6 different alternators on the bloody things! Why can't they just use the same alternator on all their cars?!

I'm getting fcuked off with my car now, i just wanna get something that actually works!

I've still not fixed my engine properly, now the pi**ing alternator's gone up the spout. I'll get them both fixed and it's garunteed that something ELSE will break!

I'm sorry guys, but this has put me off the Escort all together. I wanna get rid of the thing and buy something half decent. Only, i don't have the money to do it!

GRRRRRRRRR!!!

Got an Alternator for it, though the one i bought is a mitsubishi alternator off an L-reg TD. But, in true scottish style, when my alternator was half way out, it started pouring with rain.

I'm not a happy bunny :(

OK, well, we can all guess i was slightly angry when i put up that last post

Update: New Mitsubishi alternator is on. it works fine (as far as i can see, the rev counter works right, the charge light goes out and the battery isn't flat any more).

So that i've got a spare, and when i've got the time, i'm gonna strip down the magnetti marelli one and replace the bearing that's shot, and also replace the brushes and regulator. I might have a good alternator on the car just now, but it came off the shelf at a scrappy, god only knows when IT is going to pack up.

Anyway, just been to WHSmith just now with the car and bought Fast Ford :)

PS: Not gonna get rid of the Escy yet, i'm still determined to fix the engine. It is a good car, i guess, it's just got to that milage where everything goes wrong!
