Just been in an accident

was passenger in me dad's car, travelling up a hill, only doing about 25 in a 40, was a busy area, 9:30 this morning and some woman in a fiesta was coming down the hill on the opposite side of the road, and just tunred left without stopping and looking or indicating, so SMASH! just came outta nowhere, nowt cudda bin done

she was obviously accelerating to turn off and it spun her right round to face the opposite direction up the hill, whole front of the car caved in, complete write-off, a right mess air bag had gone off etc

Jag didn't look such a mess, will need new driver's side wing, grille, bonnet, headlights on that side, bumper and it musta popped the air con unit as it was p155ing out sumkinda bright green fluid and possibly a new radiator, so looked fairly light, but gonna be £££££££'s to put right

woman in fiesta and her daughter were took straight to hospital, just for shock tho.

also a scouser guy in a jag behind the fiesta got a bit of paint on his front wing, but no damage and he was sound and stayed as a witness, and the 1st thing the woman sed to the 1st person to talk to her, which was the jag guy, that she just pulled out without looking.

anyway, details were took, statements were made etc etc etc, cars were took away by recovery trucks

also noticed the fiesta's tax disc ran out at the end of august and it later turned out it had no MOT and all 4 tyres were illegal

got back home a while back, police have just rang to check everything was OK, me dad's on the phone to his insurance right now, and the policeman who was there asked if he wanted to press charges cos the woman admitted to driving without due care and attention, but he sed nah, it was an accident whatever happened and just gotta get on with it, it'll be paid thru her insurance anyway and will be repaired almost right away, was just a ballache to be involved in an accident that cudnt be avoided thru a lack of concentration/ attention from sum1 else and also from an unroadworthy vehicle.

anyway, car's been taken to a recovery place on an industrial estate in Telford, which also happens to be where the DHL place is, which has a parcel for me waiting to be picked up, which I can only assume is me coilovers, so will get them later too 8)

ur dad shoulda sued her ass off....take her to the cleaners!    :thumb:

if there was any difficulties, that wudda probably been looked into, but as the claiming as just been sorted out sweet as a nut and she's accepted full responsibilty, so as long as the car comes back good as new, which the insurance have said will happen.

'tis the 1st time he's been involved in any kinda accident in 45 years of driving, so just goes to show, there's a 1st time for everything

claim for whiplash, the lot.....would pay for ur planned mods on the GTi

LOL, that'd come in well handy! :innocent:

when we had that debate tho last year sumtime, I always said i'd NEVER claim for that if it was false, and even if it were true, i'd still only claim if i had to or the other party was being arsey :thumb:

Bad luck mike, but surely if her tax is run out, doesnt that void her ins??

fook knows! that's the 1st thing that was thought tho, but it only just out (sh1t, just noticed i sed august, its october now innit, meant september), and the MOT had just expired. I was without tax for around that length of time on my other escort earlier this year, and was told it was i'd be alrite if i were to just get a new tax disc within the month, but obviously it'd still be taxed from the 1st of the month we were in so i'd still just be losing out, but i dunno when them new tax laws came/come into place that they had that ad about on the telly with teh Sierra cossie in it.

anyway, it all seems to be OK, she was insured with Tesco we just found out and all seems 2 be ok for the claim :thumb:

Im in the middle of a claim for whiplash! Hopefully getting around 2k! :)

great, thats my insurance is so high :(

the 'claiming' industry needs to be regulated. You should be able to claim for loss of earnings, and that ONLY
