electric polishers

Got mine from Halfords.

 

I pour the polish on then spread it evenly with one of the 'bonnets'. They are replaceable cloth pieces which stretch over the circular bit! (if that makes sense).

 

Then put that bonnet on the machine and use it on the car. This means the polish will cut into the paint and it's getting worked in :)

 

Use the other bonnet (a thick soft material) which removed the polish.

Wont they make the paintwork thin over time?

If you use it a lot with a cutter (t-cut or harsher) then maybe! Look at your paintwork, if it's slightly rippled then you've got loads left!

 

But a polish will hardly affect it.

 

My circular polisher thing states not to use compound with it.
