pinto engines

You'll be lucky to get above 200bhp with a pinto.

I think a Pinto is one of the engines which has very large valves as standard, which is why it responds well when twin 45's are bolted on!

I think that will give about 150bhp on a good condition engine. I believe it was even available as a tick-box option on the Escort mk2 RS2000........

Depends how much power you want. Much more than 150 and you're looking at a rebuild and worked internals.

Lee is probably the best person to ask here, given he had a 190bhp pinto in a mk2. :thumb:

Well of course it's possible with loadsa money thrown at it.....

I was merely saying 200bhp requires a lot of work :thumb:

As it's a kit car, I'd try 45's, a mild cam and a decent exhaust. Then if you want more get the bottom end rebuilt to handle higher revs and a wilder cam. :)

The first or second stage of Kent's cam selection, personally I'd go 2nd. Think there's about 5 stages to choose from.

Exhaust, you want a decent 4-1 manifold and system. Think Ashley may be worth a try. Have a look what other owners with a Pinto'd kit car have done :thumb:
