ahhh yeah, its meant to rival the celeron D chip, from wot ive read it outperforms intel's offering in most applications, so if ur work is after a budget processor for their machines it definitely seems like the best choice :)

 

they wont compare to p4's and amd 64's tho m8, its a budget processor after all

hi mate, we stock these at work and also build systems for people that what them.

 

Sempron is just like an updated Duron with a 256 cache on the chip. It has only come out because windows is a year late. So amd had to bring out a chip on the socket A because they had stopped producing the Xp chip.

 

They are ok with office programs but everyone now seems to be gettin ready for the new windows next year and gettin the 64 bit chip.

ive got a semperon 3000 chip on the way for my upgrade on my 2nd pc, the 1800xp cpu in my 2nd pc is going into my 3rd pc that im building to sell

 

oh and ive ordered a new abit 64 mobo and amd 64 3500 cpu and a couple of 512mb ddr500 sticks

 

:drool: I want some serious upgrades!!! Wait until after xmas though :(

aye im buying my new pc 2morrow, badly needed lol, 64bit amd 3200+ winchester core...nicely clocked to at least 3800+ :D with 1gb ddr 3200, seen as ddr 400 makes no diff lol, 250 gb hdd, asus mobo, new case, psu, gf 6800 gt and dvd rw 16x....gonna cost a bit but its been a while since i upgraded so treating myself :)

 

dave m8....64bit amd processors wipe the floor with anything in games atm, so u notice a big difference if u play games :P
