Pelles
ok just a quick one......... just connecting the headunit upto a connecting block, and the orange/white wire on the unit had puzzled me, but i eventually found out what it was thanks to simon, and a website with a wire guide on it its the dimmer illumination which dims the unit when the lights are turned on... Im guessing the ford setting may not be this colour and wondering if any of yous know what colour the dimmer wire is behind the unit? if not ill just tape it up and do without.....but it may be a good feature to have. hope someone can help

RS2000
Get yourself a tester and find which wire in the standard loom becomes live when you turn your lights on. then connect that orange wire to that. Or just leave it as it don't matter much anyway.

RS2000
I think most fords have that. as you turn on the lights the display on the stereo dims
Cappy
Never fear.. I is here Pelles, just wire one side of any of the illumination bulbs in the dash to this wire. I like to use the one that illuminates the air flow controls. Amit
