2.0/iB5 conversion

Just thought I'd post these photos of what a 2.0 zetec/iB5 conversion should look like before it goes into the car. It's minus coolant hoses and loom as I thought these would just clutter up the photos but other than that it pretty much as it should be.

In this photo you can see some of the changes required to the 2.0, the new route of the auxilary belt can be seen so the escort water pump rotates clockwise.

Here you can see the escort zetec sump with its cut out for the downpipe and the different dipstick tube route than the mondeo.

Here you can see the escort zetec iB5 gearbox attached to the 2.0 engine, to do this you must use a 220mm flywheel and clutch from a 1.6/1.8 escort.

I hope this helps people trying to get an image in there head what the conversion should look like. :thumb:

ok, 2 things there mate which are wrong/were wrong for my car

y do u need to re-route it, u use the escort water pump so the belt goes exactly the same way that the old one (Mine being a 1.6) was

also, the CVH oil pump didnt work for me, i had to go to halfords and get the smallest (In height) oil filter cos the bar on the engine mount got in the way, i used a 'HOF264' oil filter, and was not thte one in the book for the CVH although i was told i would need the CVH one, it didnt work when i came to put it on

1. If you look at the pictures it says its an escort water pump, the mondeo water pump runs anticlockwise so its belt route is different, thats what I'm refering to.

2. Its not a cvh oil pump its the original 2.0 zetec pump with a cvh oil filter.
