I know im the first but wont be the last to say escorts are worthless.  You may  as well keep it you probably wont gain much from selling :(

its not just about selling it mate, its the cost of running it as well.. ie 1.8 is higer road tax than a 1.4.. insurance is a lot higher, petrol obviously :(

Yes Andy is right...i know I won't gain much from selling it but will not be able to afford the extra road tax/ insurance and petrol. I am seriously gutted.

So....any ideas how much it is worth? It owes me £2k but I know that I won't be near getting that!

Oh and Ian...no point in me taking bits off really as I prob wont have another Escort and can'tbe bothered with the hassle! :(

Petrol is a lot better for a 1.8 than a 1.4 Escort and probably not much different for other 1.4s too

you're only gonna gain by getting a diesel and driving sensibly tbh

tax is a one-off payment, so i wouldn't change on the strength of that or insurance as i can't imagine a 1.8 Escort can be that harsh to insure

the 1.4 will DEFFO cost more in petrol costs, i know this cos, when me a matt go anywhere when im in mine an hes in the van, he uses over a full tank whereas i use 1/2 or less an thats doin 70-80 all the way.......would seriously think about that as u WILL spend more on petrol. my 2.0 is better for petrol than the 1.6 providing i dont boot it X(
