Wez
i had this problem, and replaced the sender unit, however then mine worked for a bit and but now, mine when the ignition is on it shows full red and when I start the engine it goes to full cold, so I'm struggling at the min but can't get it into the garage (chocka at work). jp
yep im another one thats got idling problems, but it only happens when its cold. 900ss do you think you could describe the idling control valve with a little more detail, i.e. what it looks like, i presume its some where on the fuel line
JonC
my Idle control valve has kinda calmed down a little basically if u look at the inlet maifold u may have to remove the air inlet pipe with the one clip (pos screw)then under the tube for the air to enter the inlet manifold un the RHS of the manifold is a little black bit of placstic and its held with 2 screwsundo it and spray something like brake cleaner or car cleaner in the hole where it sitsthen wipe excesss away and put back together and hope it worksi may be able to get pictures soon
GTsI
mine idle's badly when cold but its ok when warm untill you dip the clutch for a junction and the rev's die down to 500 rpm and then shoot back up to 1,000 rpm (strange), i put the bad idle when cold down to the fact that i have no cat on the car, as for when i dip the clutch i dunno
Longy
Mine idled badly to until I cleaned the idle control valve. Now runs perfectly. Mine was in hard place to get to BUT just put it up on ramps and tis easier to do from underneath. I just used petrol to clean it out.
radweld
http://www.rs2000-16v.com/pdf/tsb99075.pdfhttp://www.rs2000-16v.com/pdf/tsb99065.pdf 000-75 Documents the Idle issue! Its probably casued by Water contamination of multi plugs in the engine bay! unclip everything and spray them with Cold Start or WD-40! Do the Hego(s) as well (lambda sensor on the manifold) 999-065 Documents the High temp guage problem.
