Posted April 25, 200519 yr Hmmm, bit of a strange one I got pulled a few times in the GTi for my driving, for illegal number plates and just because of the car but in 2 days of owning the XR3i, I have been pulled over (For no apparent reason, was driving sensibly enough, maybe making a bit of noise but that was it) 3 times, followed through town twice, and yesterday, got followed very closely round various country A and B Roads for over 20 miles by a new Police Vectra from another town, right the way to the main road at the end of the street that my cul-de-sac is off Now, the car is loud, it certainly does have more "presence" about it than a MK5 or 6 when I look at it parked at the end of my drive, and has turned a lot of heads this past couple of days, but it certainly doesn't stand out as much as the GTi, so why the fcuk does it get so much attention, especially from the LAPD? April 25, 200519 yr Author cuz its the type of car they expect sum1 who looks like u to drive i guess no idea tho <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Yeah, I do look like an XR3i driver, lol! Thanks but that means it's more likely to be mine and less likely to be nicked, lol It's defo just about the worst car for being nicked or ragged, reputation-wise, but this one defo ain't been either. Is HPi clear and is the sweetest-running CVH I've come across, even if it was once owned by a Mrs. Mansell!
April 25, 200519 yr xr3is and rs turbos are hot hatches m8 any1 looks suspicious in them, i had a cop follow me to ma door the other night, he felt grim when i got out the car and waved at him lol simonez
April 25, 200519 yr i've never had any police "interest" with me and my car, even with its loud exhaust and illegal plates. i guess they can tell the difference between a ropey old mk4 that could of been stolen and a well maintained "RS" with a careful owner
