Posted April 26, 200519 yr Hey thereI got some black lexus lights coming and I'm just wanting to know how easy they are to fit cause when it comes to stuff like that i am shite. Is it just a case of pop out the old and pop in the new or is there loads of other fiddley things involved. I spoke to a bloke at this garage and he said it aint easy cause of how the bulbs are situated but that sounds like cack to me and he is just after my cash, please help cause I aint into paying for jobs i can do myself.
April 26, 200519 yr Basically its a piece of pee. Get a 10mm socket and undo the four nut on the back of the original lights and remove them. Pull the light cluster out. Optional section*** Clean the area where the cluster was as it will be covered in crap if they have never been removed and also clean the foam seal. Remover the foam seal and put it on the new set of lights ****** Place the new cluster in position and tighten up the nuts which are in the same place as the originals. The bulb holders used are the original ones so they just need unclipping and replacing onto the new cluster. To replace the foglights you need a crosshead screwdriver to remove around 10 little screw around the edge of the boot plastic liner. This needs to be completly removed so you have access to the single 10mm nut which holds the fog lense on. Again remove it and rpace exactly as before.
April 26, 200519 yr Yeah, I think that covers everything Make sure when fitted that when you shut the boot for the first time you do it slowly and gently, just to make sure it doesn't hit the lights, if it does you will need to undo the bolts push the lights further out and tighten again.
April 27, 200519 yr Author I got mine from e-styling.co.uk, now they have come and there is a wiring loom missing, I have the right but not the left. I contacting them and they were quite helpful and said they would send me another straight away, lets hope they do. Cost me £139 for the black ones.
April 27, 200519 yr I have the mazda ones. They came with a foam seal. Do I still have to add the ford foam seal?
