It's a sort of funny feeling...said goodbye to the Escort (white one I used to drive) tonight, it's a kind of sad to see you go, but glad to see that hard cash in my hand in exchange for it feeling.

That car held a lot of memories for me ( :innocent: :thumb: ) done loads of stuff and been loadsa places with my mates in it etc.

Anyway on to the money side of things, even though it was my mums car to sell I was doing all the dealing.

Advertised it for £650 o.n.o which is perhaps a wee bit high for a 95 N with 93k on it, I feel.

Guess how much it went for in the end............................£600 !!!! :drunk:

I really couldn't believe it.

Guy turned up the night to see it, I was expecting the full works, eg check oil, tyres, spare tyre, ask to see log book, MOT etc...

Nope, none of it, just turned up, kinda looked at it, I gave him the keys and he started her up, offered him a test drive in it but he said it was fine.

At that point he said he had to go and ask his wife about it and would phone me back, which is when I thought, he aint interested cos he didn't seem too interested while viewing it.

Sure enough, while I was in the pub suppin got a call, so he came and got it in exhange for 600 worth of lovely notes.

But it was real scary he didn't check anything, I mean the car was totally fine mechanically, it had the years MOT, but as I mentioned above he never checked much, I would check everything I could on a car (eg in spare wheel well for rust etc..) for all he could of known the head gasket could be gone he never looked under there! Of course it was a good car, but I could of been any rip-off merchant.

Anyway a bit of a ramble (sorry long post been drinkin :drunk: :thumb: ), but considering we bought the car for £900 in 2003, £300 loss on a car in 2 years aint too bad ya reckon.

whcih pub u in? cause the drinks are on you

aye, lol,

no not too bad then few hundred loss,

i managed to buy a k reg '5b lx for 300 got 6 months use out of it, only petrol money spent, besides changin a g'box which i did meself and sold if for £410 :D

cheap motoring that, some cars i wanna hold onto but others i dont mind selling just so i can keep changing and having new ones :D
Congrats! Glad you got rid of it with little hassle! :D Lucky sod drinkin...i aint slept since 10am Tuesday :(

I've never been sad selling a car either, cos I only sell ones if and when I wanna sell 'em. The time will probably come when I have to sell one that I don't wanna out of necessity, but I've avoided that thus far :baby: :thumb:
aye ive never minded wen i sell summit ive had a while, car or otherwise cuz as lee sed, its time to start with summit new :thumb:
I was sad to see my first car go, but it had been in my family for 8 year, so i brought it back begining of the year

Lee & Mike..

You'd seriously have no sad feelings if you sold a car you'd put a lot of time and effort into maintaining, keepin clean etc ? ?(

Surely there'd be the tiniest ever feeling for it?

lol I wasn't on the verge of depression, but I did feel sorry to see it go.

I sometimes wish I could track down the Fiesta that I first drove when I was 17. It was a great car.
