The more observant/Evo-obssessed of you may have noticed my absence from the board over the last few days. This has come about from another of my wife's moves to drive me from my house!

 

For various reasons, when I had the phone reinstated, It was done in my name despite the fact that I would not be paying the bill nor making any calls. Conversely, the Tesco Broadband was set-up in my wife's name though I would be paying for it (No card account)!

 

In a Machiavellian move of the highest order my wife demanded that I move my computer to the one remaining room in the house that I am allowed; the spare bedroom.

 

After explaining that this would mean that internet access for the network would not be possible in this room and my PC was the server, she kept on demanding that I should move to this room and set the system up so that my children's PCs were the only ones connected to the net. Apparently the net is only "for the children".

 

In fairness, I spend a lot of time on the net but as we are divorcing, I fail to see what that has to do with her!

 

Basically I refused to move the PC, so she has cancelled the Broadband contract (in her name, remember) and told the kids that it's my fault that she's had it disconnected for not doing what she wanted.

 

My first thought was to retaliate by having the phone disconnected. but that would be little inconvenience as she could have it back on within an hour by setting it up in her name!

 

I have realised that all I need to do (as the BT account holder) is set up a pay-as-you-go 56K connection to the net, and keep it under my hat!

 

Of course this will be expensive in comparison, but I can do this without a debit card, and just take responsibility for the Dial-up calls.

 

So, today I am in the library, and will then be tring to set up my 56K within the next day or two.

 

If this fails, I will catch up with you folks in due course.
